Lagos man drowns during church beach hangout

It has been reported that a 34-year-old man identified simply as John has died as he drowned in the Elegushi Beach, in Lagos State, the incident occurred on Saturday, during a church hangout.

It was gathered that the church had organised a picnic for its youths which the deceased was a part of.

It was further gathered that concerns grew when the members were about to leave the beach that very Saturday afternoon but couldn’t locate him anywhere.

It was also reported that as the church members started searching for him after he was discovered missing, someone informed them that they had seen him go into the water. Lifeguards and divers were immediately alerted but efforts to locate him in the water that very day all proved abortive.

It was also revealed that that his body was only recovered by lifeguards on Tuesday afternoon at the beach.
